Day 268: Pushed Swings For Isla and Friends

There is nothing I cherish more in this world than one on one time with The Bean.  Obviously we enjoy Mommy's company, but when Isla and I get to hang out alone together, I feel as though we are really able to continue to build that father-daughter bond.  Besides, she's a Daddy's Girl (or at least that is what I tell myself much to my wife's dismay).  Today was a day where we were able to get some one on one time.  Sadly, our nanny's grandfather passed away over the weekend, so she needed time off to spend time with her family.  Rather than find a temporary babysitter who we don't trust, I decided that I would take the day off of work in order to stay with Isla.  Although she hasn't been the best eater for me, we have had a fun day filled with playing, reading books, going on walks, and even stopping at the park.  The park was surprisingly crowded with kids around Isla's age, especially the kiddie swings.  Isla loves the swings more than anything at the playground, so we of course had to spend some time in them.  Most of the kids there were with their grandparents, and they were enjoying some relaxing time on the park bench.  I asked if it was OK for me to push the few kids who didn't have anyone doing it for them, and I got the thumbs up.  So today, for my random act of kindness, I pushed Isla and some friends in the swings at the playground.  The loud scream-giggles that Isla was letting out told me that she had a great time.  I'll ask her once she gets up from her nap.

  1. Sorry to hear about your nanny's grandpa passing away. Condolences to her & her family.
Sounds like you & Isla had a fun day together. I'm sure the grandparents appreciated your help with pushing their grandchildren on the swings. Isla looks so cute on the swing.

  2. Sorry to hear about the tragic loss...nice to hear about the nice time you spend with your daughter...in my opinion mostly girls are closer to their father
