Day 249: Became The Cat's Meow

 Tigger celebrating his 18th birthday

The loss of a pet can be a truly traumatic experience.  I have had to go through it with a dog and two cats, so I can tell you first hand that it is awful.  I keep telling myself that my dog, Vinny, is going to live forever, but sadly I know that isn't the case.  I don't mean to be morose today, but it pertains to my random act of kindness.

On Day 247, I mentioned that I went to the White Sox game with my friend Doug.  The reason that we attended the game was because it was a celebration for the birthday of Doug's mom, Ginny.  Ginny has been a pretty avid supporter and follower of 366 Random Acts of kindness, so I wanted to thank her in some way for that and to wish her a happy birthday (which is actually today).  The reason why I brought up the loss of a pet earlier is because recently, Ginny lost her cat, Tigger.  She loved Tigger so much that he and his brother Ashes were considered her sons just like Doug and his brother Alex (The cats however had much better bathroom etiquette).  For as much love as Ginny had for Tigger and Ashes, there are literally millions of cats out there that are looking for the same type of love.  The Cat Adoption Team (or C.A.T) is a non-profit organization based in Oregon that is dedicated to finding a home for our feline friends, and giving them the veterinary care that they require before being adopted.  So today, for my random act of kindness, I made a donation to C.A.T in Tigger's name.
