Day 240: Gave My Wife Flowers

I enjoy performing kindness simply for kindness sake.  That is part of the reason that I am doing all of these random acts.  We shouldn't have to have a reason or motive to do things for others.  We should do them just because it makes them feel better.  I've had a lot of people ask my why I did an act for them or why I do what I do, and typically besides going into a long spiel, I simply say "Just because..."  That phrase ties in well, especially today, because it is National Just Because Day.  It is the one day the year that you don't need any reason to explain your actions, and can do spontaneous things with no reason or logic behind doing them.  With that in mind, I am going to perform a random act of kindness for my wife.  I used to be in the habit of getting my wife "weekly flowers."  I joked that the flowers were a preemptive strike on her for future occurrences of me being annoying or aggravating.  Truthfully, I got them because she deserves to be spoiled with flowers for all that she does for me.  I speak about the "weekly flowers" in the past tense because I used to get them before we adopted our crazy cat, Karen.  Unfortunately, Karen has made it nearly impossible to have flowers properly displayed in our house because she enjoys eating the flowers, drinking the water, and knocking over the vases.  Well today, for my random act of kindness, I decided to say the "hell with it" and roll the dice on getting Lindsey flowers in hopes that Karen has outgrown her love of destroying greenery.  There is no specific reason behind me getting these flowers for Lindsey.  I am doing it "just because..."

  2. Those are lovely flowers! I scrutinized them carefully for lilies, because lilies are terribly toxic to cats. I didn't see any, so your kitty may have a blast destroying them all. (We can't have flowers either -> 3 felines).
