Day 158: Gave Away My Lunch

My job at ZocDoc requires me to meet with different doctors all throughout Chicago.  As I drive around, I am always saddened by the fact that I see so many homeless people waiting on the on ramps asking for food and money.  As much as I would like to, I can't afford to give money to each one, and I feel super guilty at the fact that I have given to others but not these specific people.  It sucks actually that I can't but I try to find different ways to at least give them something small or wish them well.  During my driving today, I encountered a man on the side of the road that read "I'll Take A Smile And/Or A Meal."  Well, today, for my random act of kindness, he received both.  I could stand to miss a meal or two on my mission to lose weight and get in shape, so I gave the man my lunch for today.  Now, I am off to California where more random acts await!

  2. I just found your blog! My family started something similar when school let out. We are on Day 7. I am so excited that we are not alone in our journey! Our random acts are completely anonymous and because we have little money they are either free or very cheap. But the things that are happening to our family are amazing! We are thinking about other so much more! Keep up the good work! We are posting our RAK at sunshineepidemic.blogspot.com if you would like to follow us. I hope it is ok if we use some of your ideas.
