Day 265: Handed Out Umbrellas
Today is officially the last day of summer, and in typical Chicago style, the temperature immediately dropped 20 degrees while being accompanied by showers. Luckily, this wasn't one of the days that I spent working in a territory that I would have to walk all day. I was driving around all day, and couldn't figure out exactly what I was going to do for my random act today. I hadn't planned one out this morning, and I wasn't really inspired to do something specific. That is when it hit me. It had been in front of my face all day. As I panned left to right, I realized that since the rain kind of hit out of nowhere, there were a bunch of people walking around getting rained on. So today, for my random act of kindness, I stopped by a Walgreen's, picked up some umbrellas, and passed them out to pedestrians who were caught out in the rain. One of the people that I passed an umbrella out to was hesitant at first because they thought I wanted something for it. She said, "You aren't going to try to talk me into joining your church are you?' I laughed and assured her it was simply a random act of kindness.

Haha! That's funny! That is so kind of you. I was once stuck in rain on my way home (and thunderstorm) I was dripping wet. I had an umbrella but the strong wind broke it. Your post reminded me of that experience. Those people are lucky to have met a good samaritan in you.
