Day 155: Gave Money to a Street Performer
Today was an important day in my daughter's life. Today was the day that I took her to see her favorite baseball team, the Chicago White Sox, for the first time. I've been looking forward to this since the day she was born, and it will be the first of many ball games that we take in together. In 30 years I have never made it on the big screen at any sporting event. It took Isla 3 innings. While not starring on the Jumbotron or reaching for Mommy and Daddy's Polish Sausages smothered in mustard and onions, she seemed to really concentrate and enjoy the game. Another thing that Isla was able to experience was the many street performers that surround the stadium on a
gameday. There were the trombone and trumpet quartet, the harmonica
player, and Isla's favorite, the bucket drummers. As they played those
buckets like drums, she started dancing like crazy. So today, for our
random act of kindness, Isla and I gave money to the street performers
for entertaining her for a few minutes. The White Sox won the game (they've been doing that a lot these days seeing as how they are in first place), so outside of the overabundance of smelly guys rocking sleeveless shirts, it was an overall great day.
